Course title: Effective problem solving & communication

Objectives:  

  • Increase your ability to define and structure a business problem
  • Strengthen your problem solving approach and communication in the analysis phase
  • Increase your ability to provide a clear status and control the process and the decision makers
  • Improve the communication quality when synthesising the recommendation in a management proposal
  • Put your skills to work on some of your current business issues

Intended audience:

General managers, BU managers, program managers, project managers, business developers

Content:

Day 1 - Problem solving:

  • Problem solving and communication – what is it and why is it important
  • Problem definition and structuring, incl., issue trees, scope charts, 'the fishbone' approach
  • Data gathering and analysis, incl., using data analysis planning sheets
  • Solution/recommendation development
  • Own case work, exercises and plenum presentations during session, incl. preparation for day 2

Day 2 - Process management and communication:

  • Milestones and activity planning
  • Syndication
  • Resource management
  • Status reporting, incl., utilising the pyramid principle
  • PowerPoint formatting guidelines
  • Hands-on PowerPoint training
  • Own case work, exercises and plenum presentations during session, incl. feedback and recommendations for future improvements​

Courses will be provided physically (at client or Oleto's location) or virtually depending on official guidelines and client preference
